Clifford Salinger, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist and Cornea and Refractive Surgery specialist. He goes above and beyond, providing individualized care for each and every one of his patients. He uses his extensive background and training to provide high-quality, modern care for eyes at all stages of health or disease.
Dr. Salinger attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he completed his undergraduate education. He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, before completing a three-year residency in ophthalmology at the New Jersey Eye Institute in Newark, New Jersey. He then completed a one-year fellowship in cornea and external diseases at the Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco, California.
Throughout his career, Dr. Salinger has accumulated diverse experiences and furthered his training in the field of ophthalmology. He completed an international ophthalmology fellowship training with Orbis International, a nonprofit organization that serves developing countries around the world. Through the program, he treated patients on a converted DC-10, which serves as a flying, teaching eye hospital. He has also spent time as a faculty member with Orbis, SightLife and the University of Rochester Cornea Fellowship raining program in Rochester, New York.
Dr. Salinger is very active with his dedication and pursuit of improving ophthalmic education worldwide. He serves on the board of directors for SightLife, an international non-profit organization dedicated to addressing preventable, avoidable and treatable corneal blindness. He has participated in more than a dozen volunteer faculty missions with SightLife and Orbis. Dr. Salinger continues to be the Florida Society of Ophthalmology education and annual program chairman for 18 consecutive years. He frequently lectures and teaches locally, nationally and internationally and engages in clinical research to contribute to the field of ophthalmology in an effort to improve outcomes and safety.
Dr. Salinger also retains memberships with various professional organizations of his peers. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is also involved with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Ocular Microbiology and Immunology Group, the Cornea Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the Palm Beach County Ophthalmology Society and the Florida Society of Ophthalmology.
At VIP Laser Eye Center, Dr. Salinger successfully treats patients for dry eye, various corneal and external eye diseases, glaucoma, cataracts, refractive errors and a range of other conditions affecting your eyes and vision.
