Val Zudans, MD

Val Zudans, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Florida, where he was an Anderson scholar and elected Phi Beta Kappa. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine and was elected to the national medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha representing the top 10 percent of his class. Dr. Zudans completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. He has served on the medical advisory board for MACS (Most Accurate Cataract Surgery), a national coalition of medical professionals dedicated to defining best-practice benchmarks in cataract surgery. Committed to local issues, Dr. Zudans was elected in 2017 to the Vero Beach City Council, which selected him as mayor in 2019.
