
Edward J. Huggett, Jr., OD, is board certified by the Board of Optometry. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston in Houston, TX, where he taught physiologic optics and received training at the Lighthouse for the Blind in low vision and low vision rehabilitation. Dr. Huggett completed an externship at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center in St. Petersburg, FL. In 1994, he served as team eye physician for the Toronto Blue Jays Major League Baseball Club. Dr. Huggett has developed cognitive and vision exercises for the improvement of visual-motor integration, which are being used by patients, students, and athletes, both professional and amateur. He provides clinical data for low vision research with Johns Hopkins University and Lions Vision Research.
