
Clifford L. Salinger, MD, is a recipient of the 2020 Service to Medicine Award given by the Florida Society of Ophthalmology as well as the Palm Beach County Medical Society’s Heroes in Medicine honor for his international volunteer work over more than 30 years. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty certification in dry eye, and corneal and refractive surgery. In addition to his volunteer work, traveling overseas on many occasions, he is on the board of directors and teaching faculty for SightLife, a nonprofit organization that teaches corneal transplant surgeries internationally and establishes programs to prevent treatable corneal blindness worldwide. After completing his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, he received his medical degree from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. Dr. Salinger completed an ophthalmology residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Cornea Society and Florida Society of Ophthalmology. He lectures extensively nationally and abroad. He has been education chairman for the Florida Society of Ophthalmology for more than 20 years.
