Leslie* handles the condominium and homeowner associations as an assistant general manager for a country club community in Boynton Beach.
She always desires to look her best and strives to make a positive impression on residents, so when signs of aging became bothersome for her several years ago, she pursued an aesthetic upgrade.
“I didn’t want to look different,” Leslie explains. “What I wanted was to look like myself, only better.”
To achieve those improvements, Leslie went in search of a skilled provider of aesthetic services. Her search led her to GaliDerm Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery, where she met with co-founder Cigdem Gali, MSPA, PA-C, a physician assistant specializing in aesthetic medicine.
“Originally, I went in for BOTOX® Cosmetic injections to smooth out some wrinkles,” Leslie recounts. “But I didn’t realize how much they could do. I have a condition called cutaneous lupus, which is an autoimmune skin condition that caused some lesions and scarring on my face. Cigdem came up with a plan to attack those issues as well.”
Leslie’s goal was to look revitalized, but natural, Cigdem recalls.
“When Leslie first came to us, she wanted to subtly improve the flaws in her appearance. Cigdem points out. “We followed a protocol for treating skin conditions associated with aging called full facial harmonization. This protocol uses various treatments to balance the features of the face so they all look cohesive and in harmony with one another.
“Leslie’s protocol began with BOTOX Cosmetic injections. We also injected fillers into areas of heavy scarring as well as her tear troughs and lips.
“We then used Morpheus8, an advanced microneedling treatment for remodeling skin that has started to sag. This protocol decreased the scarring on Leslie’s face and gave her a rested and refreshed appearance.”
Since her initial enhancement, Leslie has returned to GaliDerm Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery for maintenance treatments. The goal is to retain the facial harmonization achieved through the initial treatment.
“The aging process varies from person to person,” Cigdem asserts. “The treatments we choose for maintenance depend on which aspects of the aging process bother the individual the most. We address each person’s problem areas and goals.”
Maintenance may include filler injections, a Morpheus8 treatment, and/or a PDO thread lift, which uses threads made of polydioxanone in the deeper layers of skin. These are typically done once a year.
Cigdem also recommends receiving BOTOX Cosmetic injections every three to four months.
“Movement of the facial muscles is what creates the wrinkles on the forehead and the crow’s feet,” Cigdem explains.
“BOTOX Cosmetic stops the muscles from contracting, thus preventing those wrinkles from occurring. Leslie receives a Morpheus8 treatment once a year and routine BOTOX Cosmetic injections.”
Leslie is absolutely thrilled with how her face looks now.
“It’s fabulous,” she enthuses. “My skin looks completely different now than it did before , and the scarring on my face has gotten so much better, about 90 percent better. I definitely recommend Cigdem and GaliDerm Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery.”
