DRX9000 Decompression Delivers Back Relief

Therapy engineered to alleviate pain associated with sciatica, stenosis and disc damage.

A flair for style and interior design came in quite handy when real estate agent Katherine Gonzalez found herself struggling to sell some of the properties she’d listed during a cool housing market a few years back.
“Interior design is a hobby of mine, and when the market wasn’t quite as hot as it has been the past couple of years, I did some staging to help the houses I was selling look a little more attractive to potential buyers,” Katherine explains.
“Anytime you stage a home, people can walk in and conceptualize how their own furniture and accessories would fit and look in the same space. It worked out really well for me. Most of the houses I staged sold within a month of me staging them.”
Staging a home doesn’t just make the home easier to sell; it can also raise its dollar value. According to the National Association of Realtors, that increase can range from 1 to 10 percent when compared to similar homes.
But Katherine, 56, can also attest that when you stage a home yourself, as she often does, there is sometimes a price above what is paid for furnishings and accessories.
“When you do a lot of decorating and staging and things like that, there’s a lot of picking up and moving of heavy objects, and that can take a toll on you physically,” Katherine relates. “For me, it took a toll on my back.
“It was never anything major, although I had been seeing a chiropractor because of it. But then one day this past August, I took a step up to get into my husband’s truck, and the next thing I knew, I couldn’t move.”
Katherine was left with agonizing back pain that interrupted almost every aspect of her life, including her sleep. Thankfully, she had an appointment with her chiropractor scheduled the following week.
“I usually visit my chiropractor once a month or once every two months just to get a standard adjustment,” Katherine notes. “But this time, I figured I was going to need something a little more advanced to get me going again.”
Katherine was right. After conducting a thorough examination, Katherine’s chiropractor, Jeremy M. Gordon, DC, of DeLand Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression, suggested spinal decompression. It wasn’t the first time he’d made that suggestion.
“I did have some disc issues, so Dr. Gordon mentioned spinal decompression before, but I felt like I was doing pretty well, so I passed,” Katherine relates. “My husband even recommended it to me once because he had it, and it worked really well for him.
“When Dr. Gordon mentioned it this time, I thought, I’m really struggling here; this pain is severe, and if I want to maintain my way of living, I’m going to need something different. So, I decided to go ahead with it. I’m really glad I did.

Treatment That Works

Spinal decompression is a drug-free, nonsurgical therapy that can be used to treat bulging, herniated or protruding spinal discs; spinal stenosis; degenerative disc disease; neuropathy in the arms or legs; and postsurgical neck or back pain.
At DeLand Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression, these treatments are delivered with a table device called the DRX9000, which is engineered to alleviate pain associated with sciatica, stenosis, and bulging or herniated discs.
“If you want the best results for your patients, you need the best equipment. That’s why we utilize the DRX9000 decompression system,” Dr. Gordon asserts. “It’s unequaled in design and clinical results.”
A typical session begins with the patient getting comfortable on the decompression table. The DRX9000 then creates a gentle decompressive force on the patient’s damaged discs. This reduces pressure on the discs, which helps retract some of the disc material into its natural position, rehydrating the injured disc and alleviating the pain.

“If I’m staging a house, I want to be able to go up and down a ladder, pick things up and move them around. Thanks to spinal decompression, I’m able to do that and a lot more.” – Katherine

The DRX9000 can be used to treat cervical and lumbar injuries through a program typically comprised of 24 appointments across 10 weeks. Each visit lasts about an hour, with the first 10 designed to determine the patient’s likely response.

“We start by treating patients five days a week for two weeks, and our goal is to see a 50 percent improvement in function and pain in those first 10 visits,” Dr. Gordon explains. “If we see that improvement, we continue with the remaining 14 treatments.”
DeLand Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression has charted the results of patients receiving its spinal decompression therapy for more than a decade and determined that its standard course of treatment is highly effective.
“After tracking hundreds of patients, I am very proud to report that our patient satisfaction rate exceeds 80 percent,” Dr. Gordon proclaims. “That’s a much higher satisfaction rate than invasive surgery.”
Decompression is normally followed by cold therapy and/or electrical muscle stimulation to restore proper muscle tone, decrease inflammation and maximize the effects of the treatment.

“Feeling a Lot Better”

Katherine began her treatment on the DRX9000 within a week of hurting her back. After three sessions, she began to understand why Dr. Gordon and her husband had urged her to try spinal decompression.
“My husband had been saying to me, Baby, you have to do this because you’re going to feel so much better if you do, and he was right,” Katherine enthuses. “The results weren’t immediate, but after a few sessions, I was feeling a lot better.
“Now, I’m much more flexible than I was before, and my back doesn’t hurt anywhere near as much as it did. The way I feel now makes me wish I had done this when it was first suggested to me because it’s made a world of difference.”
Katherine says she highly recommends spinal decompression to others with back pain. And she strongly recommends Dr. Gordon and the staff at DeLand Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression.
“The whole staff is amazing, and I want to emphasize that they are not the type of people who will manipulate you into doing something or getting a certain kind of treatment unless you want it,” she adds.
“They left this up to me; it was my call, and I did it is because I’m still young and active and love to walk and do nature stuff. And if I’m staging a house, I want to be able to go up and down a ladder, pick things up and move them around.
“Thanks to spinal decompression, I’m able to do that and a lot more.”
