Because You Don’t Want Weak Bones

Exercise program reverses osteoporosis threat, and all you need is 15 minutes a week

Sabrina, who began her weekly workouts at OsteoStrong two years ago, recently received the results of a second DEXA scan that showed a significant improvement in bone density.

Sooner or later, Father Time catches up with everybody. It’s inevitable. But there is strong evidence to suggest that regular exercise can keep the old man off your heels for a while. Sabrina Fabian is among those who adhere to that theory.

“I’m a bit of a longevity nerd,” the 57-year-old confesses. “I do a lot of health and longevity stuff. I go to the gym almost every day, lift weights, do yoga. I even listen to podcasts about it and attend a lot of fitness classes – spin classes and that sort of thing.”

A believer in the theory that a body in motion stays in motion, Sabrina recently added another fitness session to her routine after she was diagnosed with osteoporosis, a potentially severe condition that can greatly increase the risk for bone breaks.

Found most often in postmenopausal women, osteoporosis and its precursor, osteopenia, occur when the rate of bone degeneration outpaces bone growth, leading to dangerously low bone mineral density.

Considered a silent disease by many physicians, osteoporosis often goes undetected until a fracture occurs. Sabrina is fortunate that she learned of her condition after her doctor encouraged her to get a dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scan.

A DEXA scan produces a T-score that indicates how close a patient’s bone density is to average peak levels. A T-score between plus-1 and minus-1 is considered healthy, while a score lower than minus-1 indicates a greater risk of fracture.

“When I got the results from my DEXA scan, I was devastated because the scan showed I had a T-score of minus-2.5 in my hip and minus-2.3 in my spine,” Sabrina says. “After that, I feverishly started searching the internet for a solution.”

The solution Sabrina found is OsteoStrong, a revolutionary exercise program that has helped more than 25,000 people reverse the effects of osteoporosis and osteopenia by using specialized biomechanical equipment once a week for about 15 minutes.

The equipment is designed for resistance-based pushing and pulling with the arms and legs. During the resistance motion, a pressure many times the user’s body weight can be safely applied.

“The difference between OsteoStrong equipment and the equipment at a traditional gym is that ours does not involve a counter force,” states Mark Brady, president of OsteoStrong in South Pasadena. “Because there’s no force pushing against you, you create a force within your comfort zone, and you’re in control at all times.”

To understand the difference, Mark invites people to come to a free orientation session, try the OsteoStrong equipment and learn more about the science behind the program.

“Medical research shows that when you put certain forces on the bones, the body responds by growing new bone tissue, and that is what OsteoStrong does,” Mark says.

According to Mark, studies show that OsteoStrong improves bone density 3 to 10 percent per year. In addition, people will increase their strength by an average of 73 percent during their first year in the OsteoStrong program.

Mark also points out that doing an OsteoStrong session more than once a week does not promote additional benefit. As a result, workouts are effective and efficient. Mark also notes that bone loss is not exclusive to any age group.

“Osteoporosis is not something that only happens to old people,” he explains. “As a result, we have clients from young to old. And men are not immune. When men start losing their testosterone, their bone loss becomes more rapid.”

That’s why OsteoStrong is considered an effective program for anyone who wants to improve bone health.

Sabrina began her weekly workouts at OsteoStrong two years ago. She recently received the results of a second DEXA scan. Those results shocked her almost as much as the initial diagnosis of osteoporosis.

“I had what I consider to be an insane increase in my bone density,” Sabrina reports. “The doctor described it as a significant increase, especially in my spine where my bone mass is completely normal now.

“And I know OsteoStrong is a big part of that. I’m also taking some supplements and things, but I believe OsteoStrong is a big reason why my bone density is increasing.”

Sabrina says she feels fortunate to have learned about OsteoStrong, and even before she learned of how well the program is working for her, she was already recommending it to friends and other acquaintances.

“I would recommend OsteoStrong to anyone because the last thing you want as an older person is to have weak bones,” she says. “I don’t think anyone wants to be frail, and this is a program that can help you avoid that.”
