Revolutionary Approach to Facial Rejuvenation

Fort Myers native Jameson Gardner, 50, worked as a professional makeup artist from 1996 to 2005. He started in Atlanta and moved to Los Angeles, where he stayed for seven years. While in Los Angeles, Jameson was a national artist for Smashbox Studios and Armani® cosmetics before moving to television.

“I was the staff artist on American Idol for their second season in 2003,” Jameson recounts. “That was the season that starred Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard. I did hair and makeup for the contestants for their performances and events and some of their magazine shoots as well. It was a lot of fun.
“But after nine years of doing makeup, I decided I wanted to challenge myself with something new. I moved back to Florida and went to hair school. Now, I own my own hair salon in Wildwood. It’s called Tou Lou Color Salon. We opened in October 2016.”

At his salon, Jameson is dedicated to helping people look their best, so they can feel confident in their interactions with others. He believes he should set the example for customers, so when he became unhappy with the appearance of his face, he took steps toward improving it.

“I just started to show my age,” Jameson relates. “It hit me especially hard around my 49th birthday. I looked in the mirror and said, Who’s that? There was a hollowness around my eyes that made me look really tired. There were broken capillaries and veins on my nose, which was really red.

“My entire face was sort of sagging. It wasn’t bad, not anything that I should have been that worried about, but I could see it happening. It was especially noticeable in photographs. My skin is very pale, and it was starting to look crepey. I’m dating a woman who is 20 years younger than me, so I thought I should step it up a bit.

“Thankfully, Dr. Sharma’s wife and mother-in-law come to me to have their hair done. They thought I would really benefit from the laser Dr. Sharma offers for facial rejuvenation. I went online, read about it and was very impressed and thought I’d give it a try.”

The laser offered by Dr. Sharma at Premier Vein Centers is the Aerolase® LightPod Neo®, a revolutionary tool for facial rejuvenation. The Neo provides excellent results while maintaining patient comfort. And it has a low risk of side effects.

Gold Standard

The Neo delivers a high number of laser pulses in a short period – less than the skin tissue’s thermal relaxation time. This avoids overstressing the skin, so it’s safe for all ages and skin types.

“For lasers to be effective for skin rejuvenation, the laser energy must reach targeted structures in the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin,” Dr. Sharma describes. “Because of its short pulse duration, the Neo can deliver high levels of energy that reach those target structures without burning the skin. This laser is superior to previous generations of long-pulsed lasers.

“The Neo is safe because high-laser energy delivered in short pulses confines the energy – which heats the skin – to the targeted areas. It does not permit the energy to escape to surrounding tissues. This increases effectiveness and safety. It also means Neo treatments are more comfortable than other laser treatments. They can be performed without the use of anesthetics or skin-cooling gels.”

The Neo has become the gold standard for treating a range of skin conditions. It is often used for facial spider veins, skin rejuvenation, skin tightening, sun spots, age spots, unwanted facial hair, acne, rosacea and scar revision. It helps restore patients’ faces to a more youthful, healthy appearance.

“Even without an anesthetic, there is minimal pain involved with the Neo treatment, and it requires little downtime,” Dr. Sharma observes. “There may be some minor redness to the skin immediately after the treatment, but patients can safely apply makeup and return to their normal skin care routines. Patients can also resume their regular activities immediately following treatment.”

Dr. Sharma typically recommends a series of three Neo treatments to achieve the best results. But Jameson was convinced that the laser was ineffective when he didn’t see a significant difference in his face immediately after his first treatment.

“10 Years Younger”

“The laser treatment doesn’t hurt,” Jameson reports. “It just feels warm on your face. I thought it wasn’t doing anything because I believed it had to burn to make me look good. But Dr. Sharma assured me that the laser was doing great things for me.

“Then, about two months after I had the treatment done, people started asking me, What did you do? They kept complimenting me everywhere I went. I didn’t see anything different because the changes were so gradual.

“I look 10 years younger since having the laser treatment.” – Jameson

“Finally, my girlfriend took a picture and put it next to a picture of me on my 49th birthday. I was like, Wow! What a difference. It was pretty amazing and exactly what I wanted. I look 10 years younger since having laser treatment.
“My skin looks fresher, tighter and healthier, and there’s a brightness about it. All the crepiness is gone, as is the redness in my nose. Now, I can’t wait to get my second treatment. I hope the results are more of the same.
“I absolutely recommend Dr. Sharma. He really knows his stuff.”
