Unique therapy combo improves virility, vitality.

The glistening gold and leather championship belt that Chris* won for finishing first in his age group at a national karate tournament ten years ago is displayed in a shadow box on the wall behind the desk in the Melbourne accountant’s office.

“It started out as something to do to try to get back into shape,” says Chris, who recently celebrated his 54th birthday. “I was nearing my forties and my body was starting to change in a way I didn’t like. I was gaining weight and getting flabby.

“I’ve never been a fan of going to the gym or running, so I took up karate, thinking that would be a good cardio exercise. After a while, I really fell in love with the sport and my instructor suggested I start competing.

“I thought I was too old to compete, but it turns out there are competitions for all age groups. I didn’t last very long in the first few tournaments I entered, but I got better and eventually won a few. The belt is from a national tournament I won.”

A lifelong bachelor, Chris says his national championship belt represents one of his proudest achievements. One of the things he’s least proud of is the sexual performance he was experiencing a little more than a year ago.

“I had just started dating someone new, and everything was going well except my performance in the bedroom,” Chris reveals. “I was having difficulty getting an erection, which is something that had never happened to me before.”

Double Trouble

The issue plaguing Chris is called erectile dysfunction, or ED. It is essentially a circulatory problem in which blockages in the veins of the penis impede the normal flow of blood to the two chambers that inflate the penis when its stimulated.

Like many men suffering with ED, Chris first tried correcting the problem through the use of medications prescribed by a physician. When the medications failed to remedy the issue, his girlfriend suggested he visit a different doctor.

The doctor she recommended is Melissa Dean, MD, of the Dean Wellness Institute, where Dr. Dean and her staff have been providing patients with a holistic approach to wellness for more than 15 years.

During his first meeting with Dr. Dean, Chris reported that erectile dysfunction was not the only issue he was wrestling with. He explained he was also feeling fatigued but that he was having trouble sleeping at the same time.

“Chris was somewhat typical of a lot of the men I see,” Dr. Dean reveals. “He came in because of his erectile dysfunction, but upon further examination, I discovered there was something else going on that may have been a contributing factor to that.”

With patients such as Chris, Dr. Dean typically orders a series of tests to ensure that other potentially serious medical issues such as vascular disease or heart disease are not contributing to or directly causing the erectile dysfunction.

“The reason we do that is because someone having a problem with the blood vessels in their penis may have similar problems elsewhere,” Dr. Dean explains. “So, we always check for those issues first, then look to make sure the patient’s hormones are optimized.”

Worth a Shot

Dr. Dean’s extensive evaluation of Chris did not discover any vascular issues or disease, but the hormone test showed his testosterone levels were extremely low. To correct that problem as well as Chris’ ED, Dr. Dean recommended a combination of two remedies.

The first is called the Priapus Shot®. It is a safe, medication-free procedure for ED. The patient’s penis is injected with a byproduct of his own blood that not only stimulates new tissue growth but results in larger, firmer, longer-lasting erections.

“We start that process by drawing blood from the patient and spinning it in a special machine that separates the red blood cells from the platelet-rich plasma, which is where all the body’s growth factors are,” Dr. Dean explains.

“What we’re left with is what we call liquid gold because it has so many great benefits and growth factors in it. What we do once we have that is inject that platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, into several areas along the penis.

Going to see Dr. Dean was definitely the right call for me. I’d recommend her to anyone.” – Chris

“When that PRP with all those natural growth factors gets into the organ, it regenerates the nerves and the damaged tissue in the penis, and the result is a stronger, longer-lasting erection and increased sensitivity during sexual activity.”

There are no known side effects associated with the P-Shot, and no downtime is required to recover from it. In fact, patients receiving the P-Shot treatment can have intercourse immediately following the procedure, according to Dr. Dean.

For Chris, Dr. Dean combined the P-Shot with a treatment called bioidentical hormone replacement therapy or BHRT. This therapy balances the patient’s hormone levels through the use of hormones that function the same way the body’s natural hormones do.

These hormones are administered in the form of pellets the size of a grain of rice. The pellets are injected under the skin, usually in the hip area or buttocks, and are absorbed naturally over time by the body.

“When a patient’s hormones are balanced using BHRT, the patient typically sleeps better and feels more energized,” Dr. Dean educates. “They also tend to handle the typical stresses of a day better. It’s a truly invaluable therapy that works great with the P-shot.”

Chris researched the P-Shot before he received the injections and says it proved to be a painless procedure. He also confirms Dr. Dean’s assessment that the combination of the P-shot and the BHRT therapy work extremely well together.

“The results are excellent,” Chris says. “I feel like a new man. And I know this will come off sounding like a cliché but I’m not kidding at all when I say that since I got the P-Shot, my erections have been harder and have lasted longer than they have in years.

“It’s all a matter of the getting the circulation going again, I guess, but I also feel a lot more energetic now. And not just in the bedroom. I feel more alive all through the day. That’s the pellet therapy working, so that’s clearly a critical element.

“I mean, my testosterone levels were so low it was ridiculous, but Dr. Dean said these two therapies would work great together and they have. I actually feel years younger, so going to see Dr. Dean was definitely the right call for me. I’d recommend her to anyone.”
