Natural Healing

Integrative medicine relieves pain, increases energy.

Some memories, such as those associated with a horrific car crash, never fade. In the case of Crystal*, a real-estate attorney living in Tampa, it’s not just the memory of the crash that has stayed with her. So, too, has much of the pain it caused.Following a horrific car accident many years ago, Crystal* finally found relief for her pain at Holistic Medical Care Clinic.

“I was stopped behind another car that was turning left at the bottom of a hill when this other car came barreling down the hill at sixty miles an hour and hit me from behind,” Crystal remembers. “The driver of the car that hit me never even slowed down.”

That crash occurred in 1996 and left Crystal with a stress fracture in her shoulder blade, nerve damage in her neck and some increasingly painful back problems that more than a dozen surgeries failed to resolve.

Finally, after years of trying various traditional treatments, Crystal began looking for medical alternatives to ease her pain. She eventually found a few that worked at Holistic Medical Care Clinic, which now has its office in Brandon.

The objective at Holistic Medical Care Clinic, which was founded by and is run by Nataliya Sia, ARNP, and Sunny Sia, PMHNP-BC, is to treat patients as a whole utilizing a blend of conventional/Western medicine and complementary therapies. This treatment philosophy is also called integrative medicine.

“We avoid prescribing medications as much as possible and look to heal patients a more natural way,” Nataliya explains. “We specialize in treatments such as intravenous vitamin therapy, ultraviolet blood irradiation (UBI) intravenous therapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy and Prolozone® therapy.”

Intravenous (IV) vitamin therapy uses a mixture of vitamins and minerals that are delivered directly into the bloodstream to fight fatigue as well as a variety of potential vitamin deficiencies often caused by a diseased state.

Ultraviolet blood irradiation is a procedure where blood is exposed to ultraviolet light. The light exposure helps regulate the body’s immune system, which helps it fight off infection and manage autoimmune conditions such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

Prolozone is a reconstruction and pain management treatment in which ozone gas is injected into damaged areas of the body. The gas increases the amount of pure oxygen in the body, which helps relieve all forms of musculoskeletal and joint pain.

Positive Impact

After examining Crystal and learning that she also suffers from fibromyalgia and hypothyroidism, Nataliya prescribed a series of 40-minute nutritional IV cocktails, some 45-minute blood irradiation IVs and Prolozone injections.

“We gave her some vitamin cocktails to help her with her fatigue and hypothyroidism, and we did some ultraviolet blood irradiation to help her with her fibromyalgia,” Nataliya reports. “We did the ozone injections to help her with her pain.”

Crystal says that since she began receiving treatments at Holistic Medical Care Clinic, she has experienced a significant reduction in pain, has steadily reduced her thyroid medication and is generally feeling more energetic than before.

“There’s no question that I feel better,” Crystal shares. “I’ve been going for treatment at least once a month to make sure that I stay on top of things, and it’s really made a difference. I wish every medical clinic was like Holistic Medical Care Clinic, because they’re great and they care about their patients.”
